About Sanshin Martial Arts Karate Guelph

Our ladies-only program was established in 2004 after it was deemed that there was a need for a martial arts program which allowed women of all backgrounds to train in a comfortable setting suited specifically to them. Our program is suitable for women experienced in the martial arts as well as for women who otherwise would never have considered karate. Training in the martial arts is truly a life enriching experience. We want to share this amazing journey with any woman who is interested in trying out a class. Sanshin Martial Arts Clubs are members of the Okinawa Shorin-Ryu Shorinkan Association headed by grand master Hanshi Shugoro Nakazato, 10th Dan. The North American Shorinkan president is Kyoshi Doug Perry, 8th Dan and the vice president who oversees the Canadian Clubs is Kyoshi Pat Haley, 7th Dan. We are also members of the National Women's Martial Arts Federation, an organization dedicated to promoting martial arts and self defence training for women.
